Training
The club is now holding 2 training
sessions during the week. The 1st/Reserve Team are training
near Maida Vale tube. All other players are invited to
attend the 5-a-side session near Tufnell Park.
The club hold regular training
sessions and weekly 5-a-side in London. The 5-a-side sessions
are currently being held at a school in Tufnell Park,
near the club's main base at Central Station. This facility
is mainly used by those players who just want to kick
a ball around but it can still get fast and frantic. It
is here we tend to bring in new players to the club and
the nights, which hold up to 30 players, are held in a
friendly spirit.
January 2000 saw the first ever
Six-a-Side competition run by the club.
The idea had been born the previous year during the club's
weekly five a side. The competition was given added impetus
after the untimely death of STEVE WHITE, one of the club's
most popular players. Steve, a keen cyclist, had won a
gold medal in the 1998 Gay Games in Amsterdam, and was
a keen all-round sportsman. Nicknamed 'Dulux', the competition
was named in his memory and will be an annual event.
The competition played between 6 teams is mainly aimed
at those players in the club who do not play regular team
football.
